Why handmade shoes are expensive?

I always wanted to write this so that i can try my best to explain the other person the reason why a handmade shoe have a higher class.
If i try to put this in simple terms then i would say that handmade shoes are exclusively for your feet. Its made in accordance to your foot size length and width wise. The materials used are of first class where quality is never compromised.

A fair answer would be personalized comfort together with an impeccable handicrafts performance which is blended with an artistic and emotional dimension of beauty that represents icons of an aesthetical code inspired by the gentlemen's everlasting savior faire only that it's not just that.it's much more than just a product its the simple artistic touch that remains after discarding necessity more like a state of mind, which in certain ways makes a strong statement abt the client's character attention to detail, attitude to life and luxury lifestyle.this attitude to luxury and comfort is marked by essential lines( however, always careful to trends), the careful choice of soft and prestigious hides and details and elements that not only accurately responds to decorative requirements but most of all to functional needs as the collections at ferragamo, bally, church's and the likes certify

FASHION
The Dignified ‘Mochi’
FROM ISSUE # 187 (July 2011) | IN THIS ISSUE REFER TO FRIEND PRINT THIS ARTICLE Ahmed Dulla's eternal love for basketball has made him a potential shoe designer today. In high school, he fantasized about playing for the NBA, but realised this was overly ambitious and would remain just that- a fantasy. . So, instead, he discovered a way to connect his unattainable dream with his other interest- sneakers. "Since I loved basketball, I loved sneakers", he says, showing a strong connection between the two. "I may not be able to play for the NBA, but I can surely design shoes for them, right?"
Ahmed trained for three years at Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) in India, one of the very few institutes related to footwear technology and designing. "When I told my friends and relatives about my career choice, they mocked me and called me cobbler", he says, articulating the discrimination that surrounds his profession because of ignorance. "People aren't still aware of this career." In fact, how many of us easily run into someone who has trained in footwear technology? WAVE caught up with Ahmed to find out more about his work. Here he is in his own words.

How did it all start?
Learning to design shoes and above all learning the tricks and flicks of actually making shoes has never felt so good. The whole pride that oozes in having that pair of shoes that you visualized in your mind and then being able to turn that into reality can be somewhere related to a woman being able to give birth successfully. This whole craze or obsession or addiction or what ever you would like to call it started right after class 12. It's not like the love for the shoes wasn't there earlier. The spark was indeed there before, just that the flicker turned into a big fire as I learnt that I could actually engineer shoes. I was a little apprehensive at first of what I was actually building my career on but something inside just made me say that as long as you are passionate about what you want to do, all will be fine and I went ahead with building my career in footwear technology.

How did people you know react about your career choice?
Learning footwear has been a great source of joy for me. People still aren't aware of this career 'Footwear Technology' and it sounds Greek to their ears. When I am asked what I am do, the next image that comes to most people's minds is 'mochi'. This has often been the case and I have been the brunt of many a 'mochi joke' but today I am able to shrug it off, like water off a duck's back, for who cares what others think as long as I enjoy giving birth to new designs of shoes and all in all I am a dignified 'mochi' and I have no qualms about it.
Tell us about what types of shoes you like, or do not.
If I hate one particular shoe, that would be those ladies ankle boots (those plain leather boots) with heels. I don't know why but I just find them extremely dull; and also the fashion faux pas that's been around for quite a while now- flat strapped velcro sandals with socks. For the year 2011, I have a resolution that I won't buy any new shoes, but make my own pairs and wear them. I was able to make 5 pairs for myself which is good enough to last me for a year.

Could high heels ever be designed and made so one would feel no pain at all?
I don't  think we can do that yet.  medically it's possible by injecting hyaluronic acid, a compound of carbohydrates that help to absorb water in the dermis, that restores the cushion in the ball of the feet.
As a result it helps in providing artificial cushion in the balls of the feet. This 20ml of liquid that you would have to inject isn't cheap. One has to shell out about eighty thousand Rupees and the effect of this injection would last for about nine months. So there is good news, albeit very expensive news, for those killer heels addicts. And I think the relation between high heels and love making is that wearing high heels is like making love. It can be painful yet you still enjoy the pleasure of it!

Any words you might have for our readers who are wondering whether to take the risk and venture out to pursue their own dreams.
Follow your dreams, don't get deterred by others. In the journey of your dreams there will be obstacles. But like with every dream, all you got to do to get ahead is believe in yourself and while people will try to bring you down, but you just have to put your best foot down and move on and continue moving on till you fulfill your passion.

Shoe- the reason why it defines you so much

Shoes today are an addiction to everyone of us.We all have been very particular abt when it comes to shoe.We cant get enough of shoes. We tend to have this love at first sight with shoes the moment we jus see them and try them on jus to check the loyalty in it from comfort to the confidence level that it can produce.
Now come to think of it..the cost of shoes compared to to men's and ladies we all know that ladies shoes are cheaper and now wonder gals dont need to give a second thought of buying them. But the question is, is  it sensible to go on rampage buying shoes just coz its affordable.Everyones got their views i am sure..And i m here to put forth my view today maybe it can help them be lil more sensible the next time they go on wild shoe shopping!!!!!
I prefer someone whose got those exclusive and tight selection of shoes rather than whole lot of shoe junks that u dont even wear which loiters around your rack waiting for the right moment which usually doesnt come.did we even know that A gal at an average have around 18 pairs of shoes out of which 5-6 pairs are for daily wear and 4 for special events and the rest pairs are always in the waiting list for the RIGHT MOMENT which doesn't come usually...
Always keep in mind " if you are investing in great shoes please so  justice by wearing them.Dont feel your closet with cheap knock off's.Buy those shoes that makes u feel and look good bcoz at the end of the day those are the styles that will last.
we must not forget shoes are the temple for our precious feet and our stand in Life, they reveal epic moments in our lives, but most of all they help us walk with a sure dignity and expression of our individuality.
Wear those shoes that makes you stand out from the crowd coz there is no harm in showing off the right pairs of shoes that u own.shoes that will make you feel great, look good and that shoes ur own individual style.Own a shoe that defines you where everyone will stop you and ask you from where u bought them.THINK ABT IT!!!!!!
